Immunizations: Vaccines for Children Program

The National Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) supplies most vaccines at no cost to physicians enrolled in the VFC program. All PCPs participating in Medicaid (including those in MCOs) are eligible to enroll and participate in the VFC program.

Children eligible to receive VFC-provided vaccines include:

  • Medicaid-eligible children from birth through 18 years of age.
  • Children who do not have health insurance.
  • Children who are Native Americans or Alaskan natives.
  • Children with health insurance that does not pay for vaccines (only at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)).
